Airtricity, Ireland’s leading renewable energy supplier, has today announced it will create 200 jobs in the Irish market to support the development of the electricity supply business. The new positions will encompass sales, customer support, billing and support services.

Airtricity has signed an agreement with Port of Rømø to develop a service and maintenance centre for the proposed Butendiek offshore wind farm in the German North Sea. The development includes buildings and shore facilities for offshore access systems by fast crew tender vessels and helicopters.The offshore project has a capacity of 288 megawatts (MW) and Airtricity has entered into a turbine reservation agreement with Siemens Wind Power.

The community of West Limerick and North Kerry came out in its droves today (Saturday 13th June 2009) to Tournafulla Wind Farm at Templeglantine, Co. Limerick, to discover the power of wind and celebrate energy made better at Airtricity’s 18 turbine wind farm site.

Airtricity Developments (UK) Ltd. has today completed an agreement to acquire the eight turbine Slieve Divena Phase II wind farm project in Northern Ireland developed by RES UK & Ireland Ltd.
