Airtricity began development in Northern Ireland in 1999. There are currently seven full time employees working in Airtricity’s development office in Omagh, comprising significant experience in all aspects of wind farm development including planning, wind analysis and electrical engineering.

Airtricity also has an office in Belfast which deals with the company’s green electricity supply business in Northern Ireland. At present, Airtricity supplies green electricity to over 7,000 small to medium sized businesses in Northern Ireland.

Airtricity has over 400MW in the development pipeline in Northern Ireland. There are five wind farm projects in the planning process, with a combined generation capacity of 194MW and a further 200MW at the Environmental Impact and Land Options stages.
