Airtricity established its Scottish arm in December 2000 to focus on the development, construction and operation of wind farms in Scotland.

There are 15 full time Airtricity employees in Scotland, with in-house expertise consisting of environmental engineers, town planners, civil engineers, electrical engineers, geotechnical engineers, wind analysts and operational personnel. The Airtricity team in Scotland is fully equipped to develop wind farms from the initial site selection stage of development, through to the construction and operational stages.

Airtricity Developments Scotland has over 1,000MW in the development pipeline. The company has received planning permission for wind farms at Minsca (43MW) and Dalswinton (48MW), both of which are due to commence construction in 2006. There are over 680MW currently in the planning process
