Job Responsibilities

Airtricity are seeking a Development Coordinator to oversee the identification, progression and consenting of potential and existing wind energy sites in Northern Ireland.   The tasks will include: -

  • The identification, assessment and selection of potential wind energy sites
  • The successful delivery of Option and Evaluation agreements and Draft leases from land owners
  • The selection of the most suitable contractors and consultants for the progression of a project(s)
  • The management and supervision of such personnel throughout the Environmental Impact Assessment and Planning processes
  • The interaction with all key people responsible for permitting both at a local level and national level e.g. planners, grid operators
  • The interaction with other members of the Airtricity team e.g. construction, wind analysis, H&S, Operations, Marketing. Finance etc.
  • The production of project update reports and communication of same
  • The production and monitoring of budgets
  • Ad hoc support to management as directed

Personnel Specification

  • Airtricity require a Development Coordinator who has experience and a track record in project management with preference to those who have experience working in the energy business.   Background and qualification in Planning/EIA, Engineering (electrical, civil etc.), Law, Finance or Estate Management, Surveying, Landscape Architecture preferred.

Education & Experience

  • Degree qualified with a minimum of 3 years relevant work experience
  • Very good Project Management skills and a highly organised approach to working with experience of working on EIAs considered an advantage
  • Candidates should have excellent written and oral communications skills
  • Candidates should be comfortable presenting to management at all levels
  • Candidates should be capable of managing internal and external resources with ease, taking a lead role at meeting, setting priorities an recording actions
  • Ability to use Microsoft Packages e.g. WORD, Excel, Outlook is considered essential
  • Ability to use specialist software packages e.g. GIS, AutoCAD, WindFarmer is considered an advantage
  • Fluency in English is essential; fluency in one other European language is considered an advantage
  • A full driving license and access to a vehicle are considered essential
