Wind Farm Operations Manager Europe Region

Role Description:

  • The Operations Manager is responsible for the management of wind farm assets, infrastructure and their performance in this region. This responsibility includes safety, security, availability, maintenance, costs, quality, system responsiveness, operations staff and their development.

Responsibilities of the Operations Manager Europe Region:

  • Development and execution of the strategy for operations in Europe
  • Develop and implement a system of standards for operations management to achieve “best in class” results of the global asset base.
  • Develop and implement a system of operational and technical leverage across regions to achieve “best in class” results of the global asset base
  • Direct the activities of the regional operations staff
  • Manage the performance of the regional operations staff
  • Coach, manage & encourage development of the regional operations staff
  • Ensure appropriate staffing structure & plans exists for operations of regional wind farms
  • Instil a culture of safety, quality, problem solving, application of scientific methods, continuous improvement & project management methodology in operations
  • Ensure adequate reporting on the performance of the wind farm asset base
  • Identify and track improvement initiatives for wind farm asset performance
  • Ensure the delivery of wind farm energy to target
  • Ensure the delivery of wind farm availability each month
  • Ensure the execution of long life asset maintenance
  • Ensure the preparation & achievement of the yearly asset budget expenditure
  • Develop and manage the turbine supplier regional relationships for superior performance
  • Research methods to improve asset value
  • Extract value from various users groups, communities, landowners, authorities etc
  • Set industry leading standards for regional wind farms operations, through benchmarking

Qualification of the Operations Manager Europe Region :

Must have

  • Over 5 years direct operation/maintenance experience of wind farms or high tech operations
  • 2 year direct management of technical staff
  • Primary degree in Science, Engineering or Technology
  • 2 years experience of building and managing relationships
  • Direct experience of complex contract negotiation and execution
  • A track record of success and superior result
  • Exposure to leading business management processes

Preferred

  • Master Degree in Science, Engineering or Technology
  • Experience of managing programs in a global organizational structure
  • Competency/knowledge across different engineering disciplines
