Operating wind farms

Based in Omagh, Co. Tyrone, Airtricity Developments NI Ltd has been established to identify, gain consent and develop suitable sites for the construction of wind farms in Northern Ireland.   This is done in full consultation with local communities, with sensitive and professional planning in our environmental assessment.  The DETINI (Department of Enterprise Trade and Investment for Northern Ireland) has set a target of 12% of electricity consumption to be obtained from renewable sources by 2012.

Tappaghan is Airtricity's first operational wind farm in N Ireland, and with a number more projects coming through the pipeline Airtricity will add to this 19.5MW of 100% green generating capacity in the near future.
