Offshore Activities

Phase 1 of the Arklow Bank wind park project (25MW) co-developed with GE Energy is now complete. Phase 2 of the Arklow Project is currently being developed in partnership with ACCIONA Energía (formerly EHN) of Spain.

In December 2003, Airtricity together with its Joint Venture partner Fluor was awarded a lease from The Crown Estate to build and operate a 500 megawatt offshore wind park at Greater Gabbard in the United Kingdom. When complete the wind farm will produce enough green energy to power over 415,000 homes.
