Operating Wind Farms

Airtricity currently has ten onshore wind farms in operation in the Republic of Ireland with a total capacity of almost 250MW.  Airtricity also co-developed the country's first offshore wind farm (25MW), Phase I of the Arklow Bank wind farm with GE Energy.  This is located about 10 kilometers off the coast of Arklow, Co. Wicklow.  

The Company also has 68MW in construction and, over 300MW of wind energy in the development pipeline in the Republic of Ireland to add to its portfolio of wind farms.

Wind farm development is relatively mature in the Republic of Ireland and therefore Airtricity is examining opportunities to acquire development projects from independent developers to augment its existing pipeline.
