When should I replace my gas boiler?
The SEAI recommends that you should replace or upgrade your boiler if it is more than 15 years old. Even if there are no apparent problems, it's unlikely to be running above 70% efficiency (new boilers are more than 90%) and reliability is likely to be an issue.
Replacing or upgrading your gas boiler will:
- Help it run more efficiently, reducing your heating costs
- Reduce your heating costs by up to 25%†
- Improve reliability and safety
- Improve your Building Energy Rating (BER)

What grants am I eligible for?
What type of grant you can get depends on what type of work you decide to get done, and if you've claimed any other grants before.
We work with the SEAI (Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland) and can advise you if you're entitled to an SEAI grant. We'll manage the whole grant application for you and can deduct your grant from the upfront cost so you don't have to wait to claim your grand back.

Gas boiler service
Like your car, your gas boiler needs a check up every year (even if it's new). We can provide a 16-point safety check and certification, we do over 20,000 services a year and you don't need to be an Airtricity customer to get your boiler serviced from us.
Gas boiler repair
We know that gas boilers can break down at any time. That’s why we always have someone at the end of the phone for you to talk to – 24 hours a day 365 days of the year. We hope your boiler doesn’t break down but if it does you can count on us. We prioritise next working day repairs.
MagnaClean
MagnaClean removes the damaging iron oxide sludge that builds up in all domestic central heating systems causing deterioration in performance and eventual breakdown.
MagnaCleanse
The MagnaCleanse process is a highly efficient way of removing the damaging sludge from a central heating system. The process adopts the principle of adding chemicals and agitating the radiators while capturing virtually 100% of the suspended iron oxide sludge on its first pass. This enables your heating system to work more efficiently.
