Do I have to send in another meter reading?

We will contact you to send in another meter reading only if ESB Networks (for electricity) or Bord Gáis Networks (for gas) indicates there is something wrong with the initial reading you sent. Don't be concerned if you don’t hear from us; this means your switch is going as planned.

Your reading can be rejected if the MPRN/GPRN number you supplied doesn’t match up with your property, or if there is a problem with the reading itself.

If you signed up for meter reading reminders you will also receive a text and/or email a few days before we send your first bill reminding you to submit a meter reading. You don’t need to do this but your bill will be more accurate if you do.
