Electricity and gas meters will be read up to 4 times a year, so you may receive an estimated bill from time to time. If you submit your own meter reading, we can give you a bill that's based on the energy you use.

 

Don't Worry!

Don't worry if there are occasions when you cannot submit your own reading, we will send an estimated bill based on your usage pattern and will remind you again when your next meter reading is due.

 

To help you keep your bills accurate, we'll even text and/or email to remind you when your meter reading is due.

Who Reads My Meters?

  • ESB Networks will continue to read your electricity meter up to 4 times a year.
  • Bord Gáis Networks will continue to read your gas meter up to 4 times a year.
  • ESB and Bord Gáis Networks read all meters no matter who your electricity or gas supplier is.
  • You can also read and submit a meter read as often as you like.

 

Where Can I Get a Meter Key?

Simply e-mail meterkey@airtricity.com and we will send you a free meter key. Please quote your Airtricity account number when requesting a meter key.

How do I submit a reading?

Make smaller, regular, top-up payments to spread the cost of your bills using your SmarterEnergy card.

  • Online: You can submit a meter reading through My Airtricity, your Airtricity online account at Airtricity.com
  • Phone: This is an automated service, please have your electricity MPRN number / gas GPRN number available. ESB Networks: 1850 33 7777 & Bord Gáis Networks: 1850 427 732
