Airtricity today announced that it has signed a joint venture agreement with Italian wind farm development company Entropya. Under the terms of the agreement, Airtricity owns 60% of the joint venture partnership and Entropya owns 40%.

Airtricity has today announced the signing of two Joint Venture Partnerships to further its plans for wind farm development in Portugal.

Airtricity has today announced that construction of the 504MW Greater Gabbard offshore wind farm will begin shortly. Once completed this will be the world’s largest offshore wind farm

Dublin 15th February 2008. In January Airtricity announced that it had reached a definitive agreement to sell Airtricity to Scottish and Southern Energy Plc (“SSE”) for an equity value of approximately €1.1 billion. The total consideration to shareholders is approximately €1.8 billion which includes the proceeds from the recent disposal of Airtricity’s North American business unit. Today the company has announced that this sale process with SSE has been completed.

Airtricity welcomes the decision by Minister Eamon Ryan to introduce a support mechanism for the development of Irish offshore wind farms.
