Republic of Ireland

Following the deregulation of the electricity industry in Ireland, Airtricity signed up its first customer in the Republic of Ireland in January 2000 and in Northern Ireland in July 2002. The company now supplies green, renewable electricity to over 38,000 customers throughout Ireland. Airtricity’s customer proposition is focused on making a positive and real contribution to the environment whilst enjoying a competitively priced product.

By the end of 2008, Airtricity will have 15 fully operational wind farms generating 330MW of renewable energy, plus a development pipeline of over 240MW. Wind farm development is relatively mature in the Republic of Ireland, so the company are examining opportunities to acquire development projects from independent developers to enhance our existing pipeline.
