Braes of Doune

Early construction activity commenced in July 2005 on our 72MW wind farm at Braes of Doune in Stirlingshire. The thirty six V80 turbines were manufactured by Vestas in Campbeltown. Alfred McAlpine was awarded a contract to construct the roads, foundations and electrical infrastructure. Both companies carried out similar roles in Ardrossan.

An agreement has been reached with Centrica to purchase the entire energy output from the wind farm. The Braes of Doune wind farm will mitigate the release of around 173,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide per year.
