Scottish and Southern Energy plc (“SSE”), parent company of Airtricity, has agreed to sell 50% of the equity in Greater Gabbard Offshore Winds Limited (“GGOWL”) to npower renewables, the UK fully owned subsidiary of RWE Innogy. RWE Innogy will also reimburse SSE for 50% of the capital costs already incurred in developing the project. The total cash consideration of the transaction is £308 million.

Scottish and Southern Energy plc (“SSE) has been granted consent by Scottish Ministers to develop in southern Scotland a wind farm with a total capacity of up to 456MW. This wind farm will be built in two phases and, on completion will be the largest onshore wind farm in Europe.

Airtricity today announced that it has signed a joint venture agreement with Italian wind farm development company Entropya. Under the terms of the agreement, Airtricity owns 60% of the joint venture partnership and Entropya owns 40%.
