Scotland

Airtricity established its Scottish arm in December 2000 to focus on the development, construction and operation of wind farms in Scotland.

The Airtricity office is based in Glasgow and employees have various in-house expertise consisting of environmental engineers, town planners, civil engineers, electrical engineers, geotechnical engineers, wind analysts and operational personnel. The Airtricity team in Scotland is fully equipped to develop wind farms from the initial site selection stage of development, through to the construction and operational stages.

Airtricity will have 4 wind farms in operation by the end of 2008 generating 163MW of renewable energy, plus a development pipeline of over 800MW.  During 2007, Airtricity completed the construction of Braes of Doune (72MW) and commenced the construction of Dalswinton (30MW) and Minsca (37MW), all of which will be operational in 2008.  The UK's renewable energy incentive scheme makes this market very attractive for renewable electricity development.
