Development Project Manager (England & Wales) - REF AR/08/01

Location:  As appropriate - any Airtricity/SSE office in England/Wales

Position Profile

This role involves working as part of Airtricity's England & Wales development team.  The Development Project Manager will oversee the identification, progression and consenting of wind farm sites in England & Wales in the medium term through all stages of development.  the role reports to the England & Wales Development Manager.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assessment and selection of potential wind farm sites in England & Wales
  • The Successful delivery of Wind farm options and leases from landowners
  • Toreview, develop and assess the financial, planning, environmental and technical elements of wind farm projects
  • To work with, manage and control external consultants effectively and efficiently
  • Interaction with all the key people responsible for permitting, both locally and nationally
  • Reporting and interaction with the Generations, Operations and Development team
  • To project manage the development of wind farm projects in England & Wales
  • To successfully deliver a wind farm development pipeline
  • Other duties as required

Candidate's Experience and Skills:

  • Degree qualified with a minimum of 5 years post qualification experience in project development, specifically project management, planning and environmental issues
  • Preferable hands on experience of development in the wind energy business with a track record of delivery
  • The preferred degree disciplines include town planning, civil engineering, estate management, surveying, law, landscape architecture
  • Good project management skills and highly organised approach to work
  • The candidate should have excellent interpersonal written and oral communication skills
  • The candidate should be comfortable presenting to senior management and should be capable of managing internal and external resources with ease
  • Fluency in English is essential; fluency in Welsh is a considered advantage
