Development Project Manager (England & Wales) - REF AR/08/01
Location: As appropriate - any Airtricity/SSE office in England/Wales
Position Profile
This role involves working as part of Airtricity's England & Wales development team. The Development Project Manager will oversee the identification, progression and consenting of wind farm sites in England & Wales in the medium term through all stages of development. the role reports to the England & Wales Development Manager.
Job Responsibilities
- Assessment and selection of potential wind farm sites in England & Wales
- The Successful delivery of Wind farm options and leases from landowners
- Toreview, develop and assess the financial, planning, environmental and technical elements of wind farm projects
- To work with, manage and control external consultants effectively and efficiently
- Interaction with all the key people responsible for permitting, both locally and nationally
- Reporting and interaction with the Generations, Operations and Development team
- To project manage the development of wind farm projects in England & Wales
- To successfully deliver a wind farm development pipeline
- Other duties as required
Candidate's Experience and Skills:
- Degree qualified with a minimum of 5 years post qualification experience in project development, specifically project management, planning and environmental issues
- Preferable hands on experience of development in the wind energy business with a track record of delivery
- The preferred degree disciplines include town planning, civil engineering, estate management, surveying, law, landscape architecture
- Good project management skills and highly organised approach to work
- The candidate should have excellent interpersonal written and oral communication skills
- The candidate should be comfortable presenting to senior management and should be capable of managing internal and external resources with ease
- Fluency in English is essential; fluency in Welsh is a considered advantage
