German Offshore Procurement Executive

Location:  Northern Germany

Organisation:

This position will be part of the world wide expansion of the procurement team and will be reporting directly to the Procurement Director in Dublin. The successful candidate will be based in Northern Germany. Initially working on the Butendiek project on the Turbine Procurement and supporting the BOP negotiations the candidate will after successful completion move on to work on the future offshore projects within the Airtricity pipeline.

Task:

  • Initiating, negotiating, and closing successful wind turbine contracts for the Butendiek and following Projects in Germany / Holland.
  • Analysis of market trends including research and developing new supplier relationships
  •   Participating in defining best practice, department benchmarks and opportunities for process/tool improvement
  • Work closely with the construction and development teams on future projects

Responsibilities:

  • Negotiation of Turbine Supply and Service Contracts
  •  Responsible for meeting margin and cash flow targets
  • Driving the procurement process from supplier sourcing, bid preparation and analysis, through negotiation to contract award
  • Responsible for procurement development within assigned special projects;
  • Lead the drive for cost reductions within his responsibility.

Personnel Specification:

The successful candidate will preferably have:

  • An economics / engineering degree, possibly enhanced by an MBA;
  • 5+ years of experience in procurement, preferably within the wind energy sector or plant engineering and in the offshore business;
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken, at negotiating level;
  • Displays a positive attitude, is highly motivated, and results oriented
  • Determination, assertiveness and strong negotiating skills
  • Good organizational & planning skills
  • Team spirit
