Assistant Company Secretary - REF: AR/08/65

Location: Dublin

Airtricity is a world leading renewable energy company developing and operating wind farms across Europe.  The company is both a generator and supplier of electricity and currently supplies green electricity to over 38,000 commercial customers in Ireland.

In January 2008, the sale of Airtricity was completed to Scottish and Southern Energy Plc.  SSE is the UK’s largest generator of renewable energy, owning and operating over 1,300MW of hydro and one of the UK’s largest operational wind farms.

We are currently seeking to recruit an Assistant Company Secretary in our Dublin office.

You will be acting as the Company Secretary to Group subsidiaries in Airtricity and be responsible for the provision of company secretarial services, working closely with the Scottish and Southern Energy Company Secretariat in Perth.   As the role develops there may be opportunities to gain other areas of responsibility.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Acting as Company Secretary to Group subsidiaries
  • Attending board and committee meetings
  • Working closely with senior management and other departments
  • All aspects of Irish Company secretarial practice
  • Providing company secretarial services to circa 60 employees including some joint ventures
  • Management of companies in overseas jurisdictions
  • Share scheme administration and management of external providers
  • Dealing with share scheme correspondence and queries
  • Maintenance of Blueprint software records

The successful candidate will have the following skills and experience:

  • Knowledge of Irish Company Law
  • Qualified member of the ICSA or equivalent
  • Up-to-date knowledge of Corporate Governance matters
  • Share scheme experience
  • Familiarity with Blueprint
  • Excellent communication, team-working and interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail with the ability to work on own initiative
