Contracts Manager - REF: AR/08/12

Location: Dublin, Perth or Reading

Airtricity is a world leading renewable energy company developing and operating wind farms across Europe.  The company is both a generator and supplier of electricity and currently supplies green electricity to over 38,000 commercial customers in Ireland.

In January 2008, the sale of Airtricity was completed to Scottish and Southern Energy Plc.  SSE is the UK’s largest generator of renewable energy, owning and operating over 1,300MW of hydro and one of the UK’s largest operational wind farms.

Due to an internal restructure, we are currently recruiting experienced Contracts Managers.   The roles involve working as part of Airtricity’s Procurement team which is an integral function of the SSE business.   

Currently, key areas of focus for the team are:

• Ownership of the standard terms and condition document for all Airtricity non-turbine construction and renewable energy contracts:-
  
• Standardise the terms and conditions document on the following construction contracts and agree with senior management what the minimum terms are for each contract:
  a.        EPC BOP (Civil and Electrical Works)
  b.        EPC Substation
  c.        EPC Gridline
  d.        Grid transformer contract
  e.        Civil and electrical design contracts
• On each windfarm project ensure that the minimum terms have been achieved during the tender selection process and at contract signing. If not, clearly communicate to senior management why they have not been achieved, and any mitigation required (insurance, contingency, transfer, etc)
• Complete any pre-qualification exercises required to allow Airtricity tender the above contracts
• Prepare project specific terms and conditions for each construction contract shown above
• Manage the invitation to tender process and ensure that enough competitive tenders are received.  
• Manage the tender selection and interview process with the assigned project manager
• With the assigned project manager and construction manager select a preferred contractor for each contract and present this recommendation with supporting evidence to senior management
• Negotiate with the preferred contractor and present contracts for signing to senior management
