New Market Procurement Executive

Location:  Initally Dublin, but following that either Italy or Portugal

Organisation:

This position will be part of the world wide expansion of the procurement team and will be reporting directly to the Procurement Director in Dublin. The position will be based in either Portugal or Italy with an initial temporary location in Dublin / Ireland

Task:

  • Initiating, negotiating, and closing successful wind turbine contracts
  • Pro-actively manage existing supplier performance evaluation, ensuring that they are committed to assisting the company in the achievement of its goals and establish strategic relationships
  • Analysis of market trends including research and developing new supplier relationships
  • Participating in defining best practice, department benchmarks and opportunities for process/tool improvement
  • Work closely with the construction and development teams on future projects

Responsibilities:

  • Negotiation of Supply and Service Contracts with new and existing vendors
  • Responsible for meeting margin and cash flow targets
  • Driving the procurement process from supplier sourcing, bid preparation and analysis, through negotiation to contract award
  • Responsible for procurement development within assigned countries /   projects;
  • Lead the drive for cost reductions within his responsibility

Personnel Specification:

The successful candidate will preferably have:

  • An economics / engineering degree, possibly enhanced by an MBA;
  • 3+ years of experience in procurement, preferably within the wind energy sector or plant engineering;
  • Fluency in English and Portuguese, both written and spoken, at negotiating level
  • Fluency in Italian would be beneficial
  • Self-motivated and detail-oriented
  • Determination, assertiveness and strong negotiating skills
  • Good organizational & planning skills
  • Team spirit
