Offshore Engineer - AR/08/51
Report to: General Manager Ireland & New Markets Offshore
Location: Dublin based
Airtricity is seeking to appoint an Offshore Engineer with broad ranging capabilities. The ideal candidate would have experience in offshore foundation design for oil and gas platforms or offshore wind farms. He/she will have a formal qualification in Offshore Engineering and have a flair for interfacing in multi discipline teams, communication and delegation, as well as an overall gift for getting a job done to the highest standards.
Key Tasks will include the following:
- Assess foundation concepts for shallow and deep water offshore wind farms
- Review conceptual foundation design reports
- Review and recommend geophysical and geotechnical site investigation requirements
- Manage the Dublin office GIS (offshore) capability
- Assist with selection of sites
- Manage site investigation consultants during development phase
- Manage structural, marine and offshore engineering consultants during development phase
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Offshore Engineering
- Minimum of 5 years experience addressing the tasks noted
- Working knowledge of Health and Safety Regulations
- Membership of relevant industry bodies
- Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training (BOSIET) beneficial
Key Skills:
- Detailed knowledge of design codes and design guidance and the ability to solve demanding technical problems to demonstrate structural integrity
- Excellent GIS software skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Highly organised approach to work
- Comfortable presenting at senior management and Board level
- Fluent in oral and written English
- Willingness to travel
