Credit Controller/Accounts Administrator

The role of Credit Controller / Accounts Administrator is ideal for a proactive individual with excellent communication skills and a professional telephone manner. You will be reporting to the Credit Manager, but you must also be efficient and capable of working on your own initiative with a proactive multi-tasking approach.

The role is varied and challenging and incorporates a variety of tasks that offer plenty of diversity and opportunity to develop a variety of skill sets.

Duties:

  • Ensure that collection policies are applied consistently across all areas of the Credit Control function, in order to maximise debt recovery results
  • To work towards set targets as part of a team using established guidelines, procedures and process driven methodology
  • Collect outstanding payments from both single and multi-site customers by telephone and correspondence using a customer-focussed approach
  • Ensuring that invoices are paid in accordance with payment terms and that queries are resolved efficiently, through the development of effective working relationships with both internal and external customers
  • To prioritise and manage a challenging workload whilst maintaining a high level of customer service and satisfaction.

  • The successful applicant will be organised, have exceptional attention to detail, be quality-focused and passionate about delivering service excellence at all times.
  • Ability to demonstrate strong planning and organisational skills together with the ability to use own initiative, persuasion and commercial awareness
  • A proactive approach to implementing and suggesting more efficient methods of Credit Control whilst maintaining a team ethic is highly desirable
  • Excellent analytical and reconciliation skills essential
  • Excellent English
  • High Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Whilst no formal qualifications are required, experience in target led Credit Control or previous Customer Service experience, especially difficult calls and customer handling is preferable
