Meentycat wind farm sponsored walk

On Saturday 29 September, Airtricity held a 15km sponsored walk around and through the Meentycat and Culliagh wind farms.

The walk trailed through the wind farms and gave a chance to view some of Donegal’s most beautiful natural scenery and the wind turbines working up close. 

This sponsored walk was part of a community funding initiative by Airtricity for its Meentycat and Culliagh wind farms, whereby community groups located within a 12km radius were offered the chance to raise funds for their local organisations and obtain a substantial donation from Airtricity.  Funds will be divided amongst all qualifying groups at Airtricity’s discretion.

Over 100 walkers participated in the walk in favourable conditions.   Refreshments were distributed en route and also for the weary walkers on completion of their 15km lap.
