Airtricity is actively developing a number of wind farm sites in England and Wales and is in advanced discussions with landowners. The company is constantly investigating the potential of new sites throughout the region.
In January 2007, Airtricity submitted tenders for the Welsh Forestry Commission bid. At the end of October 2007, it was announced that Airtricity was successful and is one of three chosen Developers. The company intends to develop the site known as “Area D” which has the capacity of approx. 100MW, subject to Planning Permission.
Airtricity has also submitted planning application for two wind farms in England with one wind farm remaining to go into planning before the end of 2007.
