As an island, Ireland is very much reliant on fossil and imported fuels. It was the desire to address this dependency that led to the founding of Airtricity in 1997.
 
Today we’re recognised as a worldwide frontrunner in renewable energy. We are Ireland’s No.1 supplier and generator of green energy and have 32 operational wind farms throughout Europe, with a further 13 under construction.
