IT Operator - Wind Farm Engineer - REF: AR/08/61
Location: Dublin, Belfast or Omagh
Role:
Working within the Generation, Operations, and Development Group the role will involve managing all aspects of the IT infrastructure that relate to and support Airtricity’s Wind Farms with in the Company.
Key Responsibilities
The IS Wind Farm Engineer will have overall responsibility for ensuring that the appropriate IT infrastructure is in place and on-time to support Airtricity’s Wind Farms. Reporting to IT Operations the main responsibilities of the role include:
- Attending and contributing to Wind Farm planning and construction meetings
- Managing delivery of data communications to Wind Farms
- Manage implementation of Energy Management and IT Systems at Wind Farms
- Provide training and support to local technicians on Wind Farm IT infrastructure
- Ensure support processes are in place with Vendors for IT Wind Farm infrastructure
- Input into global IT infrastructure designs to ensure wind farm requirements are met
- Ensure that energy management and other IT requirements are considered in sub-station design and placement
- Ensure that the IT Operation’s Manager and the Chief Information Officer are aware of new initiatives and requirements from the Generation, Operations and Development group
- Promote IT Department as a strategic Business partner to Generation, Operations and Development group
- Act as primary IT Department contact for Generation, Operations and Development personnel for non-Helpdesk issues
- Travelling to Wind Farms to inspect and/or configure local systems.
- Take a lead role in resolving Television Signal issues in the vicinity of the Wind Farms
- Ensure that all work is carried our in strict compliance of the Company Safety regulations
- Ensure that all Health & Safety certifications are current and that all relevant Health & Safety training is kept up to date
