12 November 2009

12th November 2009: County Wicklow woman Sadie Nolan has got the power after winning the dream prize of a year’s free electricity for her home from Airtricity, Ireland’s No.1 supplier of cheaper and greener electricity.

Sadie Nolan from Greystones, Co. Wicklow, was the lucky winner of the fantastic prize at this year’s Airtricity-sponsored Eco Expo at the 2009 RDS Ideal Homes Exhibition. Now, thanks to Airtricity, not only can Sadie look forward to a year without any electricity bills, she also joins the over 130,000 customers who have made the better switch to cheaper and greener electricity from Airtricity.

With savings of up to 13% on ESB electricity rates available to every household in the country, Airtricity is Ireland’s cheapest standalone electricity supplier – and with 79% of the company’s electricity from renewable sources, it’s also Ireland’s greenest supplier too. So, as well as saving lots of cash, Sadie and every Airtricity customer is helping to save the planet too!

Sadie says she plans to use the cash she’s going to save with her free electricity from Airtricity to help fund a once-in-a-lifetime cruise to the Caribbean next year. “I’ve never won a competition before in my life,” an excited Sadie comments, “so this is a complete thrill. Thanks to Airtricity I’ll be able to celebrate my birthday next year in style. It’s the best pre- Christmas present that I could have ever hoped for!”

As well as working with the elderly, Sadie passionately cares for the planet and all living creatures. “I’m delighted that my new greener electricity from Airtricity will help reduce carbon emissions. I’m very energy conscious, and always make sure to switch off the lights and turn down the heat in my home – as well as saving money I believe that by being energy conscious we can make a real difference towards helping to protect the planet. And I know a good deal when I see it, so choosing cheaper electricity from Airtricity also makes real sense in the pocket,” Sadie says.

Jason Cooke, Airtricity Head of Communications, comments: “We’re delighted to present a year’s free electricity from Airtricity to Sadie Nolan, and that she has now joined the over 130,000 customers who have chosen cheaper and greener electricity from Airtricity. Not only is Airtricity Ireland’s cheapest standalone electricity supplier in the market with savings of up to 13% on ESB unit rates, Airtricity is the greenest supplier in the market too with 79% of its generation from renewable sources, so making the better switch to Airtricity is not just energy made cheaper, it’s energy made better.”
