Construction Project Manager
Airtricity is a world leading renewable energy company developing and operating wind farms across Europe. The company is both a generator and supplier of electricity and currently supplies green electricity to over 38,000 commercial customers in Ireland.
In January 2008, the sale of Airtricity was completed to Scottish and Southern Energy Plc. SSE is the UK’s largest generator of renewable energy, owning and operating over 1,300MW of hydro and one of the UK’s largest operational wind farms.
As a result of continued and anticipated growth, Airtricity is seeking to appoint a Project Manager for its wind farm construction programme. The person appointed will be responsible for a number of Airtricity based wind farms in the United Kingdom.
You will be responsible for delivering relevant projects to time and budget, fully compliant with design and HSE parameters, which meet Airtricity, Partner, and Stakeholder expectations. Other responsibilities will include:-
- Manage all stages of the project from receipt of planning permission to hand over to Operations including contract procurement
- Interface with Corporate Finance, Development, Procurement, Engineering and the Wind Resource team in the development, pre-construction and financing activities
- Interface with landowners and local councils on construction activities and access issues
- Monitoring construction activities and ensuring a timely handover from Development and to Operations
- Manage multiple projects in parallel
Ideally, you will be able to show site and office experience, as well as a track record of building, leading, and directing projects.
- Formal qualification in Engineering, further education such as MBA or a Masters in Project Management will be an advantage
- Has planned and led projects in Energy/Property/ Construction Industry
- Has delivered relevant, engineering projects to time and budget with an emphasis on value engineering and maximising project returns
- Has negotiated and managed high value EPC style contracts
- Has developed project management skills as a centre of excellence
- Has helped shape open, collaborative, working environments where people understand their accountabilities
- Has worked in matrix style teams
