Airtricity established its Scottish arm in December 2000 to focus on the development, construction and operation of wind farms in Scotland.

Airtricity Scotland has two operating wind farms in Scotland; Ardrossan wind farm (24MW) near Ardrossan and Braes of Doune wind farm, Stirlingshire (72MW).  Airtricity Scotland has 67MW in construction at present along with a substantial development pipeline. 

The renewable energy incentive scheme that operates in the United Kingdom makes this market attractive for renewable electricity development.
