How long it takes to change over your supply will depend on whether or not you submitted a meter reading when you signed up.

If you submitted a meter reading, we first have to verify that reading with NIE Transmission and Distribution. Once your reading is accepted we can transfer your supply. This will take approximately 2 weeks from the date you signed up.

If you didn’t submit a meter reading, it may take NIE Transmission and Distribution up to 6 weeks to read your meter. Your supply will be transferred as soon as we receive this reading.

There will be no disruptions to your supply during the changeover.

Speed up your switch

If you didn’t submit a meter reading when you signed up and would like to do so now to speed up your switch, you can read your meter and contact our Customer Service team with the reading.
