A system-accessed meter reading is an estimated reading. Your meter is read by NIE Transmission and Distribution 4 times a year, so we rely on estimated readings outside of these times to bill you.

We calculate estimated readings using a number of factors including your past actual readings, past usage, current usage and the time of year to ensure they’re as accurate as possible.
